Rochester Sweeps Festival May 2010
hex are a three part harmony group comprising ℜuth Price and Terry & Linda Dix. Three powerful and authentic folk voices combined to chilling effect. There’s nothing sweet about these harmonies so prepare to feel the hairs stand up on the back of your neck!
Ruth Price, Terry and Linda Dix got together in 2005 to form hex. They wanted to resurrect folk songs that have been neglected over recent years and to perform them at festivals and folk clubs.
In 2006, hex sang at Warwick Folk Festival, Wallingford FF and at Bromyard FF. They launched ‘Sleep when you’re dead’ CD at Whitby Folk Week with mate Sid Kipper.
2007 included Shepley, Gate to Southwell and Warwick Folk Festivals.
2008/9 brought Ipswich, Southwell, Warwick, Alcester Folk Festivals and a mini tour of Austria.
In 2010/11, hex sang support for Cara Dillon at the Rochester Sweeps’ Festival. They were booked for Raunds Festival and the Potbelly weekends.
In 2012/13 they sang at Lobster Potties Festival, Mercian Gathering, Holmfirth FF, Chester FF, Potbelly and Otley FF.
